Fruits come from the Samegrelo region (Megrelia). They are produced in an artisanal way on small family farms. Dehydrators dry fruits. Some productions are still dried by the sun. The sale and packaging are done by a group of people seeking to find new markets for their products.
There are all kinds of dried fruits: currants, apples, apricots, cherries, figs, kiwi, mango, olives, peach, pear, strawberries, watermelon, prunes, grapes and others. The packaging is adapted to the type of transport and the sanitary rules for export. Quantities may vary depending on the year and the season.
In 2020 more than 600 tons of dried fruits were exported to Germany, Russia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Latvia and China.
